‘Driving Sustainability Across Seafood Supply Chains’ – Focus on responsible sourcing, aquaculture and manufacturing

Given our industry’s significant reliance on internationally sourced raw materials, which stood at 67.2% in 2022, it is important that these and our resulting products meet the highest environmental and ethical standards. Responsible sourcing not only safeguards the health of our oceans but also fosters the resilience of our entire supply chain.

With growth in global demand for high quality seafood protein, sustainable aquaculture has an increasingly pivotal role to play in complementing supplies of wild caught fish and needs to meet high sourcing standards.

Furthermore, we will explore the significance of responsible manufacturing practices within the EU processing industry. This encompasses advancements in technology and innovation aimed at minimizing our environmental impact, implementing responsible resource management strategies, and devising effective waste reduction measures.
